Welcome to Awéalá (“Awéalá,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Awéalá website (the “Site”) and your registration for, purchase of, or participation in classes, workshops, gatherings, healing experiences, educational programs, retreats, events, and other services offered by Awéalá (collectively, the “Programs”).
By using our Site, registering for a Program, or participating in an Awéalá offering, you agree to these Terms.
1. About Awéalá
Awéalá is a nonprofit organization offering programs and experiences intended to support personal exploration, education, connection, reflection, spiritual practice, and well-being.
Our Programs may include guided meditation, energy healing practices, educational classes, workshops, retreats, gatherings, and other wellness or spiritually oriented experiences.
Program details—including dates, times, locations, pricing, suggested donations, duration, facilitators, and availability—will be provided on our Site or during registration.
Awéalá reserves the right to modify, reschedule, substitute facilitators for, or discontinue a Program when reasonably necessary.
2. Wellness & Medical Disclaimer
Awéalá's Programs are intended for educational, spiritual, and general wellness purposes.
Our Programs are not medical care, psychotherapy, mental health treatment, diagnosis, or a substitute for care from a qualified healthcare professional. Awéalá and its facilitators do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent medical or psychological conditions unless a particular service is expressly being provided by an appropriately licensed professional acting within their professional scope.
Nothing communicated through our Site, Programs, facilitators, or materials should be interpreted as medical, psychological, or other licensed professional advice.
You are responsible for determining whether participation is appropriate for you. If you have concerns about your physical or mental health, medications, pregnancy, injuries, or another condition that could affect your participation, please consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, contact emergency services or an appropriate healthcare provider.
3. Personal Responsibility & Participation
Participation in Awéalá Programs is voluntary.
Programs involving meditation, introspection, movement, energy work, emotional exploration, breathwork, or similar practices can affect individuals differently.
We encourage participants to honor their own boundaries. You may decline or discontinue participation in a particular exercise or activity at any time.
You remain responsible for your physical, emotional, and mental well-being before, during, and after participation.
If you experience significant discomfort or believe continuing an activity would be inappropriate for you, please stop participating and, when appropriate, notify the facilitator.
4. Eligibility
Unless otherwise specified, participants must be at least 18 years old to independently register for Awéalá Programs.
Participation by anyone under 18 requires the consent of a parent or legal guardian and may be subject to additional requirements depending on the Program.
Certain Programs may have additional eligibility requirements, which will be disclosed during registration.
5. Registration & Payment
Registration may be completed through our Site, Acuity Scheduling, or another designated registration platform.
All prices are displayed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.
Payment, when required, is due according to the terms displayed at registration. Registration is confirmed when you receive a booking or registration confirmation.
We reserve the right to correct inadvertent pricing, scheduling, or Program-description errors.
For Programs offered on a donation or sliding-scale basis, any applicable terms will be stated during registration.
6. Cancellations, Transfers & Refunds
We understand that plans change and ask participants to notify us as early as possible when they cannot attend.
Participant cancellations: Registrations canceled at least [48 hours] before the scheduled start of a Program may be eligible for a refund, credit, or transfer to another eligible Program.
Cancellations received less than [48 hours] before the Program are generally non-refundable, except where otherwise required by law or where Awéalá determines that an exception is appropriate.
Transfers: When space permits, Awéalá may allow a participant to transfer their registration to another eligible Program. Transfers are subject to availability and any difference in Program cost.
No-shows: Participants who do not attend a scheduled Program without providing notice are generally not eligible for a refund or credit.
Cancellation by Awéalá: Occasionally, we may need to cancel or reschedule a Program because of facilitator illness, severe weather, insufficient enrollment, venue issues, safety concerns, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
If Awéalá cancels a paid Program, participants will generally be offered the choice of a refund, credit, or transfer to another eligible offering.
Unless required by law, Awéalá is not responsible for incidental costs associated with attendance, including transportation, lodging, meals, or other travel expenses.
7. Donations
Awéalá may accept charitable contributions in support of its nonprofit mission.
A payment specifically made in exchange for participation in a Program may not necessarily constitute a charitable contribution for federal income-tax purposes. The tax treatment of any payment or donation depends on the circumstances and applicable law.
Where appropriate, Awéalá will provide acknowledgment of charitable contributions consistent with applicable requirements.
Donors should consult their own tax advisers regarding the deductibility of any contribution.
8. Arrival & Conduct
Participants are responsible for arriving at the location specified in their registration confirmation and allowing sufficient time to check in.
For the safety and experience of the group, admission after a Program has begun may be limited.
We strive to create an environment that is respectful, welcoming, and supportive. Participants are expected to treat facilitators, staff, volunteers, other participants, the property, and the surrounding community with respect.
Awéalá reserves the right to refuse or discontinue participation when conduct is unsafe, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, significantly disruptive, or materially interferes with the experience or safety of others.
A participant removed for such conduct may not be eligible for a refund.
9. Alcohol, Drugs & Impairment
Participants should not attend or participate in Programs while impaired in a manner that could create a safety risk for themselves or others.
Awéalá reserves the right to decline or discontinue participation if a facilitator reasonably believes that a participant's level of impairment creates a safety concern or materially interferes with the Program.
10. Results Are Not Guaranteed
Every person's experience is different.
Awéalá does not guarantee any particular physical, emotional, spiritual, psychological, financial, professional, or other outcome from participation in a Program.
Testimonials, participant stories, and descriptions of experiences reflect individual experiences and should not be interpreted as promises or guarantees that another participant will experience the same results.
11. Assumption of Risk
You understand that participation in certain Awéalá Programs may involve physical movement, meditation, emotional exploration, energy practices, time outdoors, or other activities that involve inherent or unpredictable risks.
By choosing to participate, you acknowledge and voluntarily accept the ordinary risks associated with the activities in which you elect to participate, subject to rights that cannot legally be waived.
You agree to follow reasonable safety instructions provided by Awéalá staff and facilitators.
12. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, materials created or provided by Awéalá—including written content, photographs, graphics, recordings, meditations, exercises, curricula, educational materials, logos, branding, and other original content—are owned by or licensed to Awéalá and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
These materials are provided for personal, non-commercial use.
Unless you receive prior written permission from Awéalá, you may not reproduce, publish, sell, distribute, commercially exploit, record, teach, or create derivative works from proprietary Awéalá materials.
13. Photography, Video & Recording
Participants may not photograph, film, or record other participants without their permission.
Awéalá may occasionally photograph or record Programs for educational, archival, promotional, or communications purposes.
When photography or recording is planned, Awéalá will provide notice and obtain any consent required by applicable law or Awéalá's policies.
Participants who do not wish to appear in photography or recordings should notify Awéalá or the Program facilitator.
14. Privacy & Personal Information
Awéalá respects the privacy of its participants, donors, visitors, and community.
When you use our Site or register for a Program, we may collect information necessary to process your registration, communicate with you, accept payment or donations, administer Programs, maintain appropriate records, and improve our offerings.
Our collection and use of personal information is further described in our Privacy Policy.
Third-party providers—including Squarespace, Acuity Scheduling, payment processors, email providers, and other service providers—may process information on our behalf or pursuant to their own terms and privacy policies.
15. Communications & Marketing
By registering for a Program, you consent to receive transactional communications reasonably necessary to administer your registration, such as confirmations, schedule changes, reminders, location information, and follow-up information related to the Program.
Receiving these operational communications does not automatically enroll you in promotional marketing communications.
Where required, Awéalá will separately request your consent before adding you to promotional email or text-message lists. You may unsubscribe from marketing communications using the instructions provided in those communications.
16. Third-Party Services
Our Site may use or link to third-party services, including Squarespace, Acuity Scheduling, payment processors, maps, social-media platforms, email services, and other providers.
Those services may be governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Awéalá does not control third-party services and is not responsible for their independent actions, content, availability, or privacy practices.
17. Website Use
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes.
You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or associated systems, intentionally interfere with Site operation or security, introduce malicious code, impersonate another person, or use Site content in violation of these Terms or applicable law.
18. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, Awéalá and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, facilitators, representatives, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Site or participation in a Program.
To the extent permitted by law, Awéalá's total liability arising from a particular paid Program will not exceed the amount paid by the participant to Awéalá for that Program.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
19. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Awéalá and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, facilitators, and representatives from claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from your unlawful use of the Site, material violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person's rights.
20. Force Majeure
Awéalá will not be responsible for delays, cancellations, or inability to provide Programs caused by circumstances reasonably beyond our control, including severe weather, wildfire or other natural disasters, government actions, public-health emergencies, utility failures, transportation disruptions, venue closures, or similar circumstances.
When reasonably possible, we will communicate changes promptly and attempt to offer an appropriate alternative.
21. Accessibility & Accommodations
Awéalá seeks to make its Programs welcoming and accessible.
Participants who require a reasonable accommodation are encouraged to contact us before the Program so that we can discuss their needs and determine what accommodations can reasonably be provided.

22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in our Programs, practices, or legal obligations.
The current version will be posted on this page with the date it was last updated.
23. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Massechusettes, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
Any legal proceeding relating to these Terms or Awéalá's Programs will be brought in [COUNTY, STATE], except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Before initiating formal proceedings, the parties are encouraged to make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally by contacting one another.
24. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
25. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with Awéalá's Privacy Policy, applicable cancellation and booking policies, participant agreements, and any additional terms presented for a particular Program, constitute the agreement between you and Awéalá concerning your use of the Site and participation in the applicable Program.
